Recently, GOTR Atlanta’s Executive Director Sue Payne and coach Beth Sarantapoulas were invited in to B98.5 for its “Heart of Atlanta” radio show.  Below is the write up from the B98.5 HOA homepage along with a link, so that you can hear the broadcast in its entirety.

Girls on the Run Atlanta offers 3rd through 8th grade girls a life-changing 10 week program that combines training for a 5K running race with character building and self-esteem enhancing activities. The curriculum encompasses the following three concepts:

■All About Me — Getting to Know Who I Am and What I Stand For
■Building My Team — Understanding the Importance of Cooperation
■Community Begins with Me — Learning About Community and Designing a Community Project

Young girls who complete the program gain a better understanding of how to make healthy decisions, resolve conflict, maintain a positive attitude, build strong and supportive relationships, and cooperate effectively in a group to prepare for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.
