GOTR Atlanta SoleMates Spotlight: Susan Herzog

February 26, 2010

This is the ninth in our series of GOTR Atlanta SoleMates Spotlights. GOTR SoleMates is a group of men and women training for an event of their choosing while raising money for GOTR Atlanta.

Name: Susan Herzog Susan after finishing the Peachtree

Profession: Business

Is this your first year as a GOTR SoleMate? Yes

What made you decide to join GOTR SoleMates? Great opportunity to raise money for an important organization.

What is or was your Solemates target race? GOTR Fall 2009 5K

What do you like to do when not being active for GOTR SoleMates? Tennis, hot yoga and hanging out with friends and family

Where is your favorite place to run? Peachtree Battle

What advice would you give to a new runner or athlete? Figure out what works for your running style – inside/outside, flat/hilly, with a partner/alone, with music/without music –everyone is different.  And listen to your body… if it tells you to stop – STOP! and don’t risk an injury.

What is your favorite motto or saying? You’ll never know the answer if you don’t ask the question.

What has been your best GOTR SoleMates experience? When someone surprised me out of nowhere and donated $200 through my Facebook posting

What would you say to anyone thinking of joining GOTR SoleMates? It’s double the fun of just running –you will feel really good about your training AND raising money for young girls to follow in your footsteps

What is your next race? Definitely the GOTR Spring 2010 5K on May 1st and possibly the Junior League Shamrock 5K on March 14th
