President’s Active Lifestyle Award

President's ChallengeSpread the word! In partnership with the First Lady’s Let’s Move initiative and the President’s Council, Girls on the Run is working toward getting more folks moving because we all know…it does a spirit good! We’ve pledged to recruit 25,000 participants and we need your help!

Here are the goals:

  • Adults (that’s anyone aged 18 and older): You need to be active 30 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, for 6 out of 8 weeks. As an alternative, you can count your daily activity steps using a pedometer (goal: 8,500).
  • Kids and teens (that’s anyone between 6 and 17 years): You need to be active 60 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, for 6 out of 8 weeks. As an alternative, you can count your daily activity steps using a pedometer (girls’ goal: 11,000; boys’ goal: 13,000).

There are two ways to participate:

  1. Online registration:  Register to participate by creating an account and tracking your progress online.   http://www.presidentschallenge.org/gotr/
  2. Paper Registration: Track you progress on paper and mail your completed paper forms to our office. Click here for the  Presidential Challenge Girls on the Run Application paper form.
