About GOTR Atlanta

GOTR_logo_AtlantaGirls on the Run of Atlanta is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of more than 160 locations across the United States and Canada. Girls on the Run is a non-profit program that educates and prepares girls in the 3rd through 8th grades for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living through a combination of training for a 5K with healthy living education.

The Atlanta Council was started in 1999 with a grant from the Atlanta Women’s Foundation.  Since 2000 we have served more than 4,000 girls throughout Atlanta. Our programs serve a diverse group of 3rd through 8th grade girls across seven counties (Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Fayette, Fulton, Henry and Gwinnett). Each season, more than 125 coaches  from within these communities, volunteer to lead the programs and serve as confident, physically active female role models.
