About this Blog

100_0677Our blog is loosely organized according to the Girls on the Run curriculum. Most of our posts will focus on one or more of the following concepts:

  • Self
  • Team
  • Community

Visit each concept’s page to learn more about how we define them.

The Girls on the Run program encourages positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development in young girls by guiding them toward a stronger sense of identity, a greater acceptance of themselves, a healthier body image, and an understanding of what it means to be part of a team. We accomplish this through a curriculum that encompasses the following concepts:

  • All About Me…Getting to Know Who I am and What I Stand For
  • Building My Team…Understanding the Importance of Cooperation
  • Community Begins with Me…Learning About Community and Designing Our Own Community Project

We think that women of all ages can relate to these concepts. Many of us did not have the benefit of Girls on the Run when we were young.  But it’s never too late to learn!
